Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi today charged that massive bungling has taken place in distribution of special rehabilitation package to Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) oustees in Manawar tehsil of Dhar district.
Enclosing copies of alleged fake registration papers with her statement to support her contention, she said that officials concerned have bungled lakhs of rupee in distribution of special package with the help of these papers.
She demanded that the Chief Minister should order an inquiry into registration of land shown to have been purchased under special rehabilitation package from December 2004 and said that it would unearth a massive scam involving fake registration of land which was never purchased.
On the other hand, an official spokesperson said that farmers affected by SSP continue to purchase land in a big way with the help of special package offered to them by the State Government.
He further said that 71 farmers of Thikri tehsil in Badwani district had opted for special package against their land under submergence and about Rs six crore were distributed among them for purchase of land. These farmers and their 49 adult sons have purchased 252911 acre land with this money and have started farming afresh, he said.
