The mother of two children, now living alone after being deserted, continues to receive threatening calls from her husband, reports Sanjeev K Ahuja.india Updated: Jul 03, 2006 01:59 IST
Fearing an attack on her and her children, a woman of South City has been running from pillar to post for getting her husband arrested who, she has alleged, had threatened her of getting her nude photographs published on the cover pages of adult magazines. The mother of two children, now living alone after being deserted, continues to receive threatening calls from her husband.
Even after representations made to the DGP, SSP and SHO, Gurgaon police have not been able to arrest her 'influential' husband Jitender J Singh, against whom they had already registered a case under sections 292, 420, 429, 494, 406, 498A, 506 and 34 of the IPC on June 10. The police had registered the case, at the DLF police station on the direction of the court.
"If the police does not arrest him soon and recover my nude photographs and CDs from him, I fear that he will get these photographs printed in adult magazines. He is in possession of a huge number of nude photographs and video CDs of mine, which he had shot in the bathroom and bedroom on various occasions and even during our honeymoon. He has been threatening me that if I did not give him Rs two lakh, he will have these photographs published in June/July editions of adult magazines," said Gita (name changed), adding that he had also threatened her with death.
On June 29, Gita had met Gurgaon SSP Hanif Qureshi who assured him that Jitender would soon be arrested. On the direction of Haryana DGP office, the DSP (DLF & Industries) N.S. Ahalawat had taken Gita to the SSP.
In her statement to the police, Gita claimed that her husband Jitender, who had married her in 1995 after divorcing his earlier wife, continued his relations with the last wife and concocted a plan to sell off all of Gita's property. The FIR also names Jitender's previous wife, Manju Singh, whose anticipatory bail plea was recently rejected by the additional sessions judge. She is also at large with the blessings of the police.
"Jitender never worked and was dependent on the rents. He has been cheating me all my life. First he married me after showing me the divorce papers, but then continued his relation with his earlier wife Manju Singh. They jointly planned to sell off my property. Jitender forced me to sell two floors of my parental property in Delhi," said Gita.
Afterwards, when Gita shifted to South City in Gurgaon, Jitender continued to spend lavishly despite none of it was his personal income.
"One day he demanded Rs 20 lakh from me and he said he wanted to buy a plot in sector 43. He promised that he would buy this plot jointly with my name in the deed. But to my horror, he fraudulently registered the title of the property in his own name. He and his earlier wife are now in possession of my Scorpio car, golden jewellery, bike and other household items," she added.
In the complaint filed in the court, Gita stated that her husband forced her into illegal acts, such as telephone chatting, for money. "One day he asked me to share bed with his friends and guests, and when I refused to do so he started beating me and my elder son mercilessly. After this he kicked me out with my two children from the rented accommodation in South City," said a distraught Gita.
