Police said a Hyderabad resident was killed and beheaded over an alleged love affair on Wednesday.

The incident, which reportedly took place near Garima Garden area under Sahibabad police station, has sent shockwaves among the local residents. The man had come to attend a wedding function in Bhajanpura area of Delhi.

Sultan Shahbuddin (26) was allegedly murdered and be-headed by a notorious criminal, Mohammed Mustafa, who the police claim is a resident of Bangladesh and has been residing illegally in DLF colony area of Sahibabad. Two of his accomplices, Shah Nawaz and Ranu (single name in police records) allegedly assisted him.

After the murder, the accused fled his DLF colony residence before the police teams conducted raids to nab him. The police, however, managed to arrest the other two accused.

“Mustafa had also threatened the victim earlier and had suspected that his wife had an affair with the victim. Mustafa is a known criminal and had spent three years in Tihar jail in connection with some other crime earlier,” Rakesh Rajmani, Sahibabad police station in-charge told Hindustan Times.

The severed head of the victim was found in fields near Garima Garden area.
