In the backdrop of recent arrest of a Nigerian national for his alleged involvement in selling narcotics in Hyderabad, police on Sunday conducted raids in two localities to check overstaying foreign nationals.

Six foreign nationals were reportedly picked up for questioning for overstaying in the city even after expiry of their visas, police sources said.

A senior police officer told PTI that the task force personnel of city police raided some houses in Humayun Nagar and Toli Chowki and verified passports and visas of foreign nationals, especially of Nigerians and Ugandan.

After the arrest of Chima Clement, a Neigerian national and two brothers of a Tollywood actor Ravi Teja, from whom about 40 grammes of cocaine was seized two days ago, police have initiated a drive to crackdown the contraband supplying racket.
