If there is one word that can best describe actor Abhay Deol, then it would be ‘maverick’. The actor surely raises the bar with every film he acts in.
Deol has recently signed on film-maker Dibakar Banerjee’s next movie called
Talking about the same, Deol, who is playing a dark character, says, “Shanghai is based on a 1966-book
by Greek novelist Vassilis Vassilikos. The book is about the real-life assassination of a dynamic politician. But it has been adapted to the Indian context.”
The actor is all praise for Dibakar, with whom he worked in the hit
Oye Lucky Lucky Oye
. “Dibakar is known to add his touch of humour to every subject he deals with and that is something that excites me about him."
will see Deol sharing screen space with actor Emraan Hashmi. Deol says, “Emraan is really talented and and the best part is that people can relate to him. I am looking forward to work with him.”
Talking about his other upcoming projects, including
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
, Deol says, “
is about the journey of three friends. All three of us (Hrithik, Farhan and I) had great fun while shooting for the movie. Moreover, Zoya is a fabulous director. The best part about her is the fact that she plays extra attention to the little nuances of her characters. I didn’t need to think much under her direction. Then I am also working in
(with Bipasha Basu), but I don’t want to talk much about it
When asked about the Deols and their movie
Yamla Pagla Deewana
, the actor says, “I am really looking forward to watch
Yamla Pagla Deewana
. There are no projects in the pipeline right now, but I will love to work with all the Deols. All the three Deols (Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol) are very entertaining, and I don’t know whether I will be able to match them. Also, I don’t know how will I get rude with any of them if I am required to. I am very shy.”
The 34-year-old actor is in no mood of settling down though he has been seeing actor Preeti Desai. “There are no plans of settling down. I don’t predict such things,” he says.
Reacting to actor Sonam Kapoor’s statement that he is not a well brought up man, He says, “Sonam’s statement brought a smile to my face. I am bored of it and I have moved on. Anyway, we live in a democratic country and everyone has the right to say whatever one wants to.
