Expressing surprise at news reports about her decision to play Indira Gandhi in an upcoming biopic on the former PM, actress Madhuri Dixit told HT City that she’s not even thought about it yet, let alone signed on the dotted line.
“I have not signed the movie. A lot of things have to be finalised before I end up deciding on a movie,” she says. Dixit’s manager Rakesh Nath also says, “These reports are wrong. The film’s producer Krishna Shah is keen on signing Madhuri but there have been no talks about her fee and dates etc. Madhuri is not interested in politics, but Indira Gandhi has been her idol.”
The Golden Globe-nominated Shah has been writing the script of the film Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story for last 23 years and plans to bring it onscreen by the end of 2011.
