Thank you!! Over the past six weeks, I have received an overwhelming response to the question I asked in my very first column with
. I had asked “Can I write? Should I write? Do you like it?” And there has been an outpouring of kind words of appreciation and encouragement to continue sharing my thoughts with the readers of
across the country. Thank you to everyone who has taken the effort to respond (many of whom do so regularly) to my column. I am very touched and also really glad that we have connected.
My friends at HT City Delhi gave me the opportunity last week to meet with a few readers from Delhi who have been writing to me on a regular basis. It was a fun, enlightening interaction and I was touched by the kind words (and gifts!) that I received from Ravi, Puneet, Manish, Renu, Anu, Deepti and Priyanka. I hope I get to meet everyone else from other cities, too!
Apart from the positivity of the feedback, I was surprised to see that almost everyone was under the impression that I don’t read their mails. I would like to clarify that I do read every single mail, even if I can’t respond to each and every one of them. So, please keep writing in.
I want to give a special shout out to:
Harishankar, thank you for making me feel that the little something that I do makes a difference to you. I’m not trying to lead or preach but only trying to get across my thoughts to people who might want to read them.
Thanks Chirag (Verma). Thoda ghee shakkar kha lena! Like you said in your letter, I also do hope my films are blockbusters every year. Thanks for reading!
Chandrika, I’ll definitely pass on your message to Shah Rukh. Maybe next time you can write to me, too!
Hey Deepak (Chopra),I’m amazzed that you can write an entire letter in verse. You’ve inspired me to write something similar.
Eshan (Kapoor), it was a really sweet letter. Thank you. Thank you for your letter.
Naresh (Khattar), you are right, it’s because I am a fauji kid that I have the confidence to stand where I am. I think fauji children are privileged to be brought up in that environment. It gives us the opportunity to face the world with a lot more confidence. Thank you for giving me a topic to write about in future. Manish (Sharma), loved your shayari. Please keep it up.
