Masumeh refutes rumours.. interviewed by Rachana Dubey

You’re a part of the mega ensemble cast of Dus Kahaniyan.
Yes, I'm doing Highway opposite Jimmy Sheirgill. It’s a thriller directed by Hansal Mehta. The story revolves around two characters who live life like a dream. They get high on everything and face the repercussions.

Aren’t you in danger of being overlooked given the number of stars involved?
No, every story in the film, each character in these stories, has its own place. There's no way any actor or actresses will get lost. I'm not apprehensive.

Why has there been such long gap between your films?
I didn't plan it this way. I just choose the best that comes my way. It's not a conscious decision to do few films at long intervals. I'm a gypsy... I live life on my own terms.

Did the itsy bitsy part in Woh Lamhe help?
Of course it did. And it wasn't an itsy bitsy role. My character was the reason for what happens in the film. It was sort of intense.. and negative. I was extremely happy with the way it turned out. I was even nominated for a couple of awards, even though I didn’t win any trophies.

<b1>So, why hasn't Mahesh Bhatt repeated you?
You will have to ask him that.

Do you regret doing any of these films?
Why should I? I don't think I ever made a wrong choice. However good or bad the film turned out, I was always appreciated.

You're flaunting your belle dancing skills a lot these days.
I've learnt belle dancing and kathak. And I enjoy dancing. It's my second passion after films. I'm contemplating doing a few shows now.

The buzz was that you were contemplating a change of career because movies weren’t working out?
That’ll never happen. I've been acting since I was a knee-high. Box-office results are not going to deter me .. ever. Hits and flops come and go. I will act till I die.

Are you seeing Sanjay Gupta?
( Laughs ) You're kidding me.. na ? Seriously, I want to know the source of this buzz. How can I be seeing Mr Gupta? He’s still in love with his ex-wife Anu. They're planning to get together again. And I wish them luck.

So,who's the new man in your life?
No one. But the rate at which I'm being asked this question, I guess I will put up a sign board some day saying, 'Wanted a gorgeous hunk..'.
