Highlight Story

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has worked with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time in

Bachna Ae Haseeno

, but the actress says she is very comfortable working with him and shares great onscreen chemistry with the actor.

"We both are actors and remain in our characters on the screen. But, at the same time, we understand each other well," says the actress, who is eagerly waiting for August 15, when

Bachna Ae Haseeno

releases.

"Its a youthful movie. I am playing the character of Gayatri, who does what she wants. Its a movie that people will relate to. Everyone goes through such a phase in life," says the diva.

Produced by Yash Raj films, the movie also stars Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu and actress Minissha Lamba. Yash Raj banner has not had a good year after their big films like

Tashan

and

Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic

did not do well at the box office.

But Deepika says she did not feel any pressure while signing the film and defends her decision to work with Yash Raj banner.

"I think its unfair to generalise. Yash Raj banner has given biggest number of hits in past. Couple of failures don't put any pressure on us," she says.

She played double role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in

Om Shanti Om

and incidentally, will be playing a double role again opposite Akshay Kumar in her next movie

Chandni Chowk to China

.

Deepika Padukone is all excited about her double roles. "Its great if I can play two characters in one movie. And it also shows that the directors think I am capable of carrying a double role."

Her debut movie

Om Shanti Om

created box office records world over and she clinched Filmfare Best Female Debut award for her good performance. But, the actress maintains that success and stardom are secondary to her.

"Being a good actor is more important to me, than being a star. I am the same person as I was before. If success comes my way, its just an advantage," she says. Deepika credits part of her success to her stint in modelling.

"Modelling has given me a lot of confidence which gets reflected in my on screen work," she accepts. A former state level player in Badminton, Deepika says that theres a lot of talent in India, but there is not much focus on sports in our country.

Frequent shooting schedules keep her away from her family, but the actress is very close to her parents.

"My parents and my younger sister are my tutors and I am very close to them. They advice me regarding my career but at the end of the day its my decision" she says.

Deepika says she wants to focus on commercial cinema and solo heroine roles in future. When asked about her dream role, she says,

Om Shanti Om

was my dream role."
