"What he said was that anger was boiling inside him for past several days," Additional Police Commissioner Subodh Kumar Jaiswal said.

45-year-old Pravin said that anger was simmering in his heart because he was living an obscure life despite being the brother of an influential politician of the country.

"What's wrong if I expect my brother to help me? Even his (Pramod's) personal staff is minting money using Pramod's name," Pravin, who has been charged with attempt to murder and is in police custody, alleged during the interrogation.

Police sources claimed to have seized a hard disk of a computer at Pravin's house, besides his digital diary and a mobile phone.

"We have sought billing details of Pravin's mobile phone to ascertain with whom he was in touch with on Friday night and on Saturday morning when he left for Pramod Mahajan's Worli residence where he fired at the BJP leader," investigating officials said.

But they said that it would take a long time to identify the persons whom Pravin had called up.

Pravin had told police that Pramod used to hardly visit him at his Thane residence, although he would often visit all other close relatives, including Pravin's in-laws in Nagpur.

Investigating officers said that their priority was to find out as to what led to a delay in Pravin reaching Mahajan's residence although he left Thane, some 35 kilometres, around six in the morning. He reached Worli at almost half past seven, they said.

On Sunday night, police recorded the statement of a domestic help at the Mahajan residence. According to sources, the servant claimed that he was inside the house but could not tell what happened between the two brothers as he was not present at the spot.
