From playing a rebellious goon in Dabangg to a loyal cop in Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap, actor Sonu Sood has come a long way and now he desires to essay the role of a superhero.
“I would like to do a superhero role. As lot of superhero films are being made now. I want to play a superhero like Spiderman,” Sood said.
“I think superhero films work big time with kids. You have lots to do in terms of stunts. But the script has to be very convincing,” he said.
Sood made his Bollywood debut with Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in 2002, but rose to fame with Dabangg. The 38-year-old actor will now be seen alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Puri Jagannath’s up-coming flick Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. The film is a romantic comedy about an angry old man, played by Big B, who gets into trouble because he loses his cool easily.
On his role, Sood said, “I play Karan Malhotra, he is loyal cop, who is committed to eliminating crime. It is not like the cop thing works so I did it. It’s just that the script had this thing in it, which I felt was good.”
About his experience of working with Big B, he said, “He is a great guy and we had lot of fun together. The liveliness that he has is something that keeps him energetic. He has this excitement and fervour that keeps us on our toes, and we have to do good work.”
Produced by AB Corp, the film also stars Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Minnisha Lamba and Sonal Chauhan. The film releases on July 1.
