The Indian Air Force is investigating allegations of sexual harassment against a group captain posted in Kolkata, sources said on Tuesday.
The accusations were made against the decorated fighter pilot by two women, including the wife of another IAF officer.
The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry into the matter. Sources said the officer has been removed from his current appointment and attached to the Kolkata-based Eastern Command till the completion of the probe.
The incident comes days after two Indian Navy sailors were accused of sexual harassment by a local woman during a goodwill visit by an Indian warship to South Korea’s Incheon.
The groping incident is said to have taken place at a convenience store on the night of October 23, the very same day stealth frigate INS Sahyadri anchored at the port. A senior officer said the navy would get to the bottom of the matter and initiate strict disciplinary action after the warship returned.
