Haryana IAS Officers' Association expressed grief over the sad demise of 1981-batch IAS officer Harbaksh Singh at his residence in Gurgaon early on Wednesday morning.

In a condolence meeting, chief secretary PK Chaudhery said Singh was an intelligent officer and a great friend. "He was an extremely pleasant personality and was ever ready to help others. We all will miss him," he said.

The chief secretary said the loss was profound and completely irreparable.

He assured Singh's family that they could call upon the resources of the association should there ever be a need for it.

A two-minute silence was also observed by the members of the association in the memory of the departed soul.

Singh is survived by his wife Reshma Singh and sons Vikramaditya and Sangeshwar. According to family sources, the funeral would be held on Thursday at noon at Noorpur village near Pathankot bye-pass, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, Punjab.
