ICFAI holds workshop on banking

TO APPRISE the students about the new trends in the banking sector, ICFAI National College organised a seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in Banking, Insurance & Capital Market and job opportunities in these sectors’ on Monday.

Sharing his views on the upcoming banking trends, UTI Bank manager K Hariharan discussed the origin and functions of banking and focused on the latest developments in this sector such as internet banking, debit cards, ATM and electronic fund transfers.

He also emphasised the importance of E-banking in detail, introducing the students to the ways a bank operates through internet, intranet and extranet.

The lecture was followed by an interactive question-answer session on the topic wherein Hariharan answered the queries put forward by the students. Center head Capt V M Kumar highlighted the significance of choosing the right career by students at an early stage and extended warm thanks to Hariharan on behalf of INC.  A presentation on Post-Graduate Diploma Program
in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFI) was also given during the workshop.
