The Indian Cricket League (ICL) could take off at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh this November. Zee Entertainment officials met with the UT Sports Department brass with a view to booking the stadium for 15-20 days in November to hold their first tournament.

“Zee Entertainment officials met us a couple of days ago to book the stadium. We have asked them to send us a proposal before making a final decision,” a UT Sports Department official said. In the wake of the BCCI asking all its associations to stay away from the ICL, the stadium suits Zee just fine, as it isn’t under the Board’s control. It is under the UT Administration and offers good facilities. Besides, the Haryana Cricket Association is hosting the India-Australia game at the venue in October and other facilities too would be in place by that time.
