Located in the heart of the city in Connaught Place, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) city centre is a boon for all those enrolled with the varsity. Students often have problem reaching the main campus of the university, which is located at Maidan Garhi.
The city centre, which began on 2008, facilitates easy access to information about the university and its various academic programmes.
“It was set up with the aim of helping students get information and counseling them on various courses. The students especially those enrolled with the distance learning programmes can avoid travelling to the main campus since the centre caters to all post-admission queries,” said KD Prasad, director, IGNOU city centre.
Apart from helping in depositing and collecting documents like registration forms and exam applications, the centre also helps in dissemination of information regarding job opportunities.
“The centre has database of all 2.5 lakh students enrolled with the varsity and it functions as a single window operating system for any kind of assistance that a student might need,” added Prasad.
