According to sources, UGC Vice Chairman Moolchand Sharma and Additional Secretary RK Chauhan are among the favourites for the post.

A committee was formed in June 24 after VC HP Dixit completed his term. So far there have been two meetings of the committee on the issue and the date for the third meeting is yet to be finalised. Official sources revealed “the committee members have sought a meeting with the Union HRD minister over the selection.”
