Not to be outdone by graduates from the IIMs, the entire batch of the MBA (International Business) from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has walked out with a record high annual domestic and international salary of Rs 10.55 lakh and $100,000 respectively on Sunday, the first day of its placement week.

The average domestic salary this year was Rs 8.1 lakh compared to Rs 7.28 lakh last year. Companies from different sectors like FMCG, banking, consultancy, IT, pharmaceuticals and trading took part in the recruitment drive, an IIFT release said.

IITF’s two-year full-time degree programme in MBA (International Business) is much in demand and about 35,000 applications are received every year for its 120 seats.

Founded in 1964, IIFT has been accorded the status of a deemed university and has consistently been ranked among the top 10 B-schools.
