The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, on Monday said it would await instructions from the Union Human Resource Development ministry before making the next move on the admission issue in the wake of the Supreme Court refusing to vacate its stay on OBC reservation.
"We are almost certain that the government will give clearance in a day or two", Prakash Apte, Director, IIM-B, told PTI. "Once the clearance comes, we will begin displaying the list of candidates".
"We are pretty sure that it (clearance) will happen. There might be some delay. But the delay of a few days will not really matter", Apte said.
Earlier, a spokesman for IIM-B said, "we will wait for further instructions from the HRD Ministry. We have decided to wait till they tell us what to do".
Following a government directive, IIM-B had earlier decided to keep on hold the admission process for the coming academic year, after the Apex Court had adjourned the case on the quota regime to April 23.
