The health centre at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) complex here, received a hoax bomb threat, saying that an explosive had been planted there.
The call was received at 9.30 AM on a landline number, following which the authorities alerted the police. Police accompanied by sniffer dogs and bomb squad officials,conducted a search for one hour, but found no explosives, police sources said.
Police are making efforts to trace the origin of the hoax call.
The city police have been receiving various hoax bomb calls since the serial blasts that rocked the city on July 25.
The IISC had been the target of terrorist attack in 2005, resulting in the death of a professor.
