Faculty members of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other centrally funded technical institutions will now get fat paychecks.
The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved the revision of pay scales for over 50 such institutions The pay hikes will cover faculty, design and scientific staff and other academic staff of these institutions.
The Cabinet also approved giving financial assistance to States for implementing the revised scales in state-run technical institutions.
