ILVA School to host CBSE badminton tournament

ILVA HIGHER Secondary School will host the CBSE west zone interschool badminton tournament in Indore from November 8 to 11. About 600 students from 70 schools of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, Daman and Nagar Haveli will participate in the tournament.

ILVA HIGHER Secondary School will host the CBSE west zone interschool badminton tournament in Indore from November 8 to 11. About 600 students from 70 schools of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, Daman and Nagar Haveli will participate in the tournament.

School chairman Yeshwant Kaushik said the tournament would be held in the under-14, under-16 and under-19 categories. The winners of this tournament will represent West Zone in the National CBSE Badminton Inter-School Tournament to be held in Delhi.  Interested CBSE schools could register their participation in the tournament at ILVA School office.

Sheeba, Sofiya in school hockey team
SHEEBA PATEL, Sofiya Rahman, Amreen Khan and Gulnaz Khan of St Umar Higher Secondary School have been selected for the 52nd State School Hockey Championship to be held in Damoh.

IK Society President Haji Abdul Gaffar Nuri, school principal Naseem Qayyum and sports officer Sayeed Alam have congratulated hockey coach Poonam Chandra Kashyap and those selected on their achievement.

Sajid wins ITF felicitation
SAJID LODI of Indore is one among the three coaches who have won ITF felicitation on the basis of their performance in the 13th ITF Asian coaches conference organised by the Tennis Academy of Asia at Bangkok, Thailand, recently.


Around 150 coaches from 18 nations attended  the conference, which consisted of practical and theory classes. Several eminent coaches and tennis experts addressed the conference. Lodi will make use of this training to promote local tennis in the City.

‘Strong will power must for success’
SPORTSMAN SPIRIT matters more than victory or defeat in games. Players must possess strong will power to obtain success. Inspector General of Police (Indore Zone) Rajendra Kumar said this at the prize distribution ceremony of the State-level Women’s Sports Tournament organised by the State Sports and Youth Welfare Department in Indore recently.
DIG Madhu Kumar Babu and SP Anshuman Yadav watched the kabaddi match held before the closing ceremony. Indore team beat Sagar (64-34) to win this final.

Jabalpur bagged the volleyball title beating Bhopal by 25-13 and 25-13. Priyanka and Renu of Jabalpur contributed largely to this victory with excellent blocking. Indore also won the kho-kho final.

Additional SP Dharmendra Choudhary read out the report while Gulamnavi Pahalwan, Ghanshyam Choudhary and Dhananjay Sharma welcomed the guests.

Zimal Khan of Gwalior conducted the programme and Sports & Youth Welfare Officer Indore Rajesh Shakya proposed the vote of thanks.
