Imphal: One jawan killed, three injured in IED blast

One jawan was killed while three others injured in an IED blast near the northern wall of the Assam Rifles Transit Camp at Minuthong near Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal on Wednesday evening.

One jawan was killed while three others injured in an IED blast near the northern wall of the Assam Rifles Transit Camp at Minuthong near Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal on Wednesday evening.

The device went off at around 7:20 pm injuring four jawans from ‘31st Assam Rifles’ and ‘17 Assam Rifles’. They were rushed to RIMS Hospital and Shija Hospital at Langol.

One of them succumbed to injuries while the other three were reportedly out of danger.

The blast was allegedly triggered with remote control when the Assam Rifles were patrolling the camp.

The blast also destroyed a shop near the camp.
