Each child may be born with same gray matter but it is used differently through life to build a unique personality.
Keeping this in mind Oxford University Press, India launched 'Get Set, Go' an integrated course on general awarwness, general knoledge, personality development and skill for classes 1 to VIII, on the January 12, 2007 at the World Wide Fund Nature India, where the author Barry O'Brien led an interactive session with leading educationists from premier schools in the National Capital Region on various aspects of the child psychology and factors that affect life skills & personality development.
School leaders and senior teachers from various schools in Delhi participated in the event and reverted with an over whelming response. Barry O'Brien discussed various situations a child faces in the day to day life and how education can support and guide them towards a better future.
Along with academics other fields like awareness about the society and environment, manners, healthy living, responsibility, leadership etc, are equally important for the child's mental growth. The briefing session deliberated on each aspect of the 'Whole Child Development'.
The 'Get Set, Go!' series of books is the new face of Indian education and an initiative to prepare students to tackle real life situations and overcome future challenges.
