UNDER HONEY'S HAT
Mera award sirf mera hai
Hi my peach Melbas, just had this divine foot massage with the coolest creams in the world, only to be bheja fried immediately after by Vijjy, my boyfriend. He’s got me this mobile which has so many caller tunes, in all languages ranging from angrezi and Hindi to Bhojpuri and Chinese. Ooof!
Anyway, what is this I’m hearing subah subah now? Apparently, Imran Khan has chosen to skip the IIFA Awards, scheduled to be held in Macau next month. Nah, it has nothing to do with mama Aamir Khan’s stand against Indian award shows.. but it’s Imran’s own grouse, says my khabru.
Seems Imran’t isn’t enthused to know that Farhan Akhtar has also been nominated for the Best New Actor award. Strange, you might think, considering he was willing to share it with the actor-producer of Rock On!! a couple of months ago. So why the fuss now?
According to my informer, Imran feels that once was enough. Besides, he wasn’t aware that he’d end up winning the trophy along with Akhtar. But now he doesn’t want to be surprised with an encore. So he’s believed to convey to the organisers that he won’t be available for their show sha. Really now!
For someone who bagged all the Best Debutant Actor for his runaway hit, Jaane Tu.. Yaa Jaane Naa, this means he doesn’t seem to mind one trophy less. Hmm.. ki fark painda hai?
His nayi saheli
Achha listen.. looks like Nihar Pandya, ex-boyfriend of Deepika Padukone, has found a new good friend. The girl in question is lissome model Deepti Gujral. Hmm, Pandya seems to have a fetish for models, huh?
Rapchik Rajni spotted him at Blue Frog over the weekend, says that Nihar boy appeared to have eyes and ears only for Deepti.. even though his two friends Suved Lohia and Prashant Chadha sat across the same table.
Now, I can understand if he gives Deepti more attention than Lohia.. but Prashant, he must not ignore. After all, he’s launching Nihar as an actor in his next as a director. The thought that he directed Himesh Reshammiya’s debut as an actor still gives me the heebie-jeebies. Shudder shudder!
In another corner of this Neela Mendak, Rajni caught Juhi Babbar with a pony-tailed dude. I’m told Juhi looked as if the rest of the world didn’t exist around her, as she couldn’t take her eyes off her companion.
Although he was not exactly a Greek God types, Mr Pony-Tail looked quite presentable, affirms Rajni, adding that he’s a theatre guy whom Juhi met often at Prithvi etc. Rajni is feeling happy for Juhi.. and is glad she has moved on.. after her marriage with Bejoy Nambiar ended. Hmm.
Aha, this is some good news. Looks like Sushma Reddy is all set to tie the knot later this year. Badhiya hai, after sister
Meghna tied the knot with her Greek beau Ari Mionis in Athens earlier this January.
I’m told the guy Sushma is marrying is her old college friend.. who is currently one of the top bankers in London. Apparently, Sushma wanted a simple wedding, but has now given in to chhoti bahen Sameera’s wish of making it a grand affair.
Sameera has taken up the responsibility as the wedding planner.. and will get into action soon after she returns from Singapore, where she’s shooting for Priyadarshan’s De Dana Dan. Kool.. badhaai ho badhaai and all that.
Papa ho to aisa
Okay, here comes Madhu my Mottu Maid with my green apple iced tea. Just what I need to beat this sultry heat. Now she’s telling me about Aashish Chowdhry, whom she bumped into at the Benetton store in Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon.
Just back from a shoot in Scotland, Aashish and his biwi Samita were shopping for his nephew and niece, who were also accompanying them. And when they were done, he handed the ‘maha good goody bags’ as he called their purchases to the bhatija and bhatiji.
Before Mots could say anything more, Aashish excused himself, saying he was in a rush to get home before his son Agastya woke up. Because he needed some time to get the aromatic oils ready to give his son a nice maalish, a shower.. and then watch some DVDs called Baby Einstein or something like that with Agastya.
For someone who was a party-animal at one time, marriage and fatherhood seems to have domesticated him totally, remarks Mottu. But then, such is life dearies.
