The man has been identified as one Sharanjeet of Gaya, Bihar and police said he had married a girl against her parents’ wishes.

Police said his in-laws murdered him in cold blood after giving him a cold drink laced with sedatives.

Three years ago, Sharanjeet had married Rameshwari, who used to live in Delhi’s Madangiri. She had been living with him in Gaya when her parents called her, saying they had forgiven her. She and her husband reached Delhi after which her father Jaipal took her to a relative’s house and murdered Sharanjeet.
