Pack your bags , Jammu and Kashmir is calling you- this time to Mughal safari for the route which Mughal emperors took to reach Kashmir via high mountains is opening for the visitors as 2010 is going to be visit J&K year at the international level.

All the dots that would connect to the journey of love to the paradise on earth by Mughal emperor Jehangir along with his wife Noorjahan , including Noori Chaamb- a waterfall hidden in the rocks, 10 kms from Bafliaz in Poonch district – about 240 kms north of Jammu, where empress used to have showers , will be opened top tourists .

This exciting package , a total recall of the Mughal era , is to going to mark the tourism calendar of Jammu and Kashmir next year.

Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora unfolded this plan in the state legislative Assembly on Saturday. To begin with his department will organize a motor rally in Rajouri- Poonch- the starting points of the Mughal emperor’s journey to the Valley, which was described as paradise on earth by Jehangir.

This campaign has been christened as “In the footsteps of Mughals”, and under this campaign , “all heritage places of Mughal period including Mughal Sarain and Noori Chammb would be showcased in an organized manner.”

Aero sports is being introduced in Surinsar- in the plains of Jammu , famous for a lake that has a myth connecting it to the epic era of Mahabharta- and Kishtwar – a bowl shaped town amid Himalayas , Jammu, in a big way owing to great potential for it in these areas.

New spots within the Valley, which have not been explored and put on the tourism map, too would be opened to the visitors .

It’s going to be J&K all the way – start count down to January 1, 2010.
