India and China do not want unresolved border issues to stand in the way of military cooperation.

The two nations will kick off joint military exercises in 2011 after nearly three years. The next round of military drills will take place on Chinese soil.

The decision was taken last week when an Indian delegation led by defence secretary Vijay Singh met top Chinese officials in Beijing during the third annual defence dialogue.
