India on Monday condemned the terror attack on the Lahore police academy, saying it offered its deep sympathy to the people of Pakistan.
"We don't have full information. We are deeply concerned. We condemn the terrorist attack," Home Minister P Chidambaram told reporters in New Delhi, even as the attack on a police training centre in Lahore continued. Latest reports put the death toll at 20.
"We condemn all terrorist attacks. We offer our deepest sympathies to the people of Pakistan," he said.
Asked if he saw a parallel between the Mumbai and Lahore attacks, Chidambaram said: "There can be no parallel. The only commonality is that they are terror attacks.
"In the case of Mumbai, the source is known to be Pakistani soil. We don't know about the (source of) Lahore attack. Therefore, it would be completely wrong to draw a parallel."
