India on Cannes’ plate

If you thought the only Indian flavour at the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival was Bollywood, you’re wrong — there’s samosa, pyaaz pakora, bhajia and our very own chicken tikka masala, too.

If you thought the only Indian flavour at the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival was Bollywood, you’re wrong — there’s samosa, pyaaz pakora, bhajia and our very own chicken tikka masala, too.

Wooing the crowd at the French Rivera is a full-fledged desi snacks menu at the India Pavilion. Those who’ve been spotted lapping up the scrumptious Indian spread include Indian stars such as Madhur Bhandarkar, Anurag Kashyap and Aishwarya Rai, as well as the Hollywood biggies from across the world.

“Indians and visitors can gorge on some desi snacks as the Indian Pavillion has on offer samose, pyaaz pakoras, chicken tikka masala and bhajiyas (sic),” tweeted actor Anant Narayan, who is also at the gala.
