Indian abducted in Nigeria released

An Indian national, who was abducted in Nigeria, has been released, the government confirmed on Saturday.
Mammen, who was abducted by a militant group in Port Hartcourt, was released on Friday, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed said.
Working for Saipem, a subsidiary of the Italian ENI oil group, Mammen was abducted along with two other foreign nationals on Friday at Buguma, about 30 kilometres southwest of Port Harcourt.
Mammen has said that he was not mistreated by his abductors, Ahamed said, citing information provided by Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria HHS Viswanathan.
Government had on Friday said that efforts were being made to secure his safe and early release.
