An Indian national has been arrested by Malaysian officials for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs worth almost two crore rupees into the country.

An official of the customs department said, the drug weighing 5.02kg, was found inside two rice pots in the 26-year-old suspect's luggage at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa town in Kelantan state bordering Thailand..

It was the second drug bust in a week in the state after the discovery of 32 cannabis slabs worth almsot 85 lakh rupees on Wednesday.

"The cannabis, weighing 29.89 kg, was hidden inside the spare tyre of a car driven by a Thai national," he said.

On July 9, a 50-year-old Indian national was arrested at the airport after he was found to be in possession of 13.5 kg of ketamine worth at least 30 lakh rupees hidden inside picture frames.
