Indian challenge ended at the $92,500 British Open tournament following Saurav Ghosal's straight set mauling in the opening round in Manchester.

Ghosal was outplayed 7-11, 6-11, 5-11 by second seed Gregory Gaultierin of France in just 38 minutes at the National Squash Centre.

Joshna Chinappa had on Thursday failed to qualify for the women's singles main draw of the PSA World Tour Super Series event.

Joshna was humbled by England's Fiona Moverley 10-12 12-10 7-11 9-11 in the first qualifying round of the $53,500 WISPA World Tour Gold event.

Ghosal had also crashed out of last week's $52,500 PSA US Open Squash Championship 2009 in Chicago.
