Indian designer angry at MTV VJs!

india Updated: Oct 23, 2006 18:42 IST
Highlight Story

Designer Deepika Govind is one angry lady. Reason? The behaviour of MTV VJs Sophie and Anusha at the MTV Lycra Style awards last week.

Govind was commissioned by Lycra (a co-sponsor for the awards) to do the wardrobe of the MTV VJs and music directors like Annu Malik, Shantanu and Preetam. But only the music directors wore her clothes. “Sophie and Anusha didn’t want the clothes.

They said they were not their style. Probably they weren’t sequined and embroidered enough,” Govind laughs, adding the VJs personal style of dressing wasn’t exactly anything to kill for.

VJ Sophie Chaudhry agrees they didn’t wear Govind’s clothes at the show, but declines to say more. “What matters is that we looked fabulous in what we wore.”
