Indian eves to tour UK for NatWest series

Mithali Raj will lead a 14-member squad as the side embarks on the twin tours of Ireland and England this summer.

Mithali Raj will lead a 14-member Indian team with Jhulan Goswami as her deputy as the side embarks on the twin tours of Ireland and England this summer.

During the tour, India will play two one-day matches against Ireland on July 29 and 30.

Meanwhile, under their new captain Charlotte Edwards, England will take on the Indian eves in a NatWest Women's series, featuring five one-day internationals, a two-match power Test Series and a NatWest International Women's Twenty20, according to an England and Wales Cricket Board statement in London.

India would be striving to repeat their last year's performance when they trounced the visitors 4-1 at home.

Before the series against England, the Indian eves will play practice matches against a Development XI on August 2 and the MCC the next day.

Indian squad:

Mithali Raj (captain), Jhulan Goswami (vice-captain), Anjum Chopra, Amita Sharma, Nooshin Al Khadeer, Hemlata Kala, Monica Sumra, Reema Malhotra, Karuna Jain, Sulakshana Naik, Rumeli Dhar, Preeti Dimri, Nidhi Buley and Asha Rawat.
