Premal Patel, an Indian origin optician who was part of a British charity, made a record 850 eye examinations in a day while volunteering in India.
Premal Patel, who was part of a team with the Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) charity, carried out a record 850 eye examinations in a day in the Indian city of Bangalore in March.
The charity helps people with sight difficulties in developing countries.
"The best moment was when I prescribed glasses for an old lady who was virtually blind. She was overwhelmed. The whole trip was very rewarding," the 32-year-old optician said.
During his two-week stay in the Indian city, Patel carried out more than 3,600 tests, according to the online edition of News Shopper.
"I'm definitely planning to do some more trips with VAO. Hopefully, we'll be going to Africa in December and possibly Cambodia next year," the Middlesex resident said.
