Indians compassionate - no way!

One of the most touching articles I?ve ever read. I?m glad to see at least somebody has voiced his opinion. I?ve often tried my best to help these dogs. I disagree that Indians are supposed to be compassionate. It?s a myth! Our country is also a mix of all sorts of people like any other country. I have seen very inhuman people as well, who tie little puppies up, tie dogs outside in killing heat without water and a leash which barely allows them to sit and stand. Kids are so harsh with little puppies and their parents let them beat the dog till its handicapped for life.

One of the most touching articles I’ve ever read put in very simple words. I’m glad to see at least somebody has voiced his opinion for these lovable creatures who cannot even express their pain.

I’ve grown up in a house where we have always had pets. I am very attached to animals specially dogs. I am happy to see that there are people who love stray dogs as well. I’ve grown up playing with stray dogs and feeding them.

I’ve often tried my best to help these dogs, the most down trodden creatures of our country. I disagree that Indians are supposed to be compassionate. It’s a myth! Our country is also a mix of all sorts of people like any other country. I have seen very inhuman people as well, who tie little puppies up, tie dogs outside in killing heat without water and a leash which barely allows them to sit and stand. Kids are so harsh with little puppies and their parents let them beat the dog till its handicapped for life and turn a deaf ear saying "he is just a kid or that’s just a dog"!

I always go and ring peoples’ doorbell and plead with them to take care of the dog. If they don’t listen I complain to frendicos, etc. But it’s of no use.

I have often found homes for stray puppies, or took injured dogs to the vet. I’ve got a couple of female dogs sterilised. I’ve asked help from frendicos a couple of times, to send somebody with me in the car to pick up a sick dog who is in very bad condition. But caretakers turn a blank face!

I feel very hurt seeing people ill treat dogs and animals on the streets, being a girl I’m also inflicted with disgusting comments from Indian men when I go to rescue some poor animal. I want to do more for these loving stray dogs but feel very helpless and mocked by traffic police and Indian men. Who do they respect?

Delhi has several illegal colonies, Shahpurjaat, Jamroodpur, Kotla Mubarakpur, Hauzrani, to name a few, where the pitiful state of animals cannot be described in words! I’ve seen so many incidents that I can write a short book on "cruelty on animals".

I’m sure many people like me would love to fight this tough battle of cruelty against animals.
