Indo-Pak joint mechanism a sham

No one has any doubts about Pakistan?s objective that it consistently executes with a single-minded determination in national and international fora via military, diplomatic and administrative means. Unfortunately the PM and Congress are consistently inconsistent on terror and India's stand on it. In Indo-Pak joint mechanism like the SEZ, quota and the farmer compensation issues not backed with homework, groundwork or clarity in thought.

Musharraf, to paraphrase Amitabh Bachchan, has “talked terror, walked terror, eaten and slept terror”. No one has any doubts about Pakistan’s objective that it consistently executes with a single-minded determination in national and international fora via military, diplomatic and administrative means.

Unfortunately the PM and Congress are consistently inconsistent on terror and India's stand on it. One would assume that the PM and his team had worked on and spelt out the details on how the joint mechanism will work prior to the Havana statement.

However, it is now clear, that they had not even agreed on the definition of terror leave alone the functioning.

In Indo-Pak joint mechanism, like with the SEZ, quota and the farmer compensation issues, this government has made grand policy statements that are not backed with homework, groundwork, implementation plans or even clarity in thought.

This is extremely worrying for any average Indian.
