Indo-Pak peace bus service resumes on LoC

Indo-Pak 'peace bus' service, which was suspended due to 'tension' between the two nations, has resumed on Monday morning with civilians exchanging border along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"The Poonch-Rawlakote bus service resumed this morning with exchange of civilians when gate was opened at Chakkan-da-Bagh in Poonch district," official sources told UNI.

He said the service resumed after the three-week long 'tension' between India and Pakistan along the LoC.

"About 84 stranded passengers from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) have returned to their native places in two buses," sources added.

They further said 68 Indian citizens, who went across to meet their relatives and stuck up due to the ongoing 'tension' along the border, are also returning to their homes.

The bus service vis-a-vis trade between two nations was suspended following escalation in ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts made by the Pakistan.
