THE BUSES plying on Indore-Ujjain route from Tuesday onwards will be conducted from Halalpura bus stand. It was decided in a meeting chaired by Commerce Minister Babulal Gaur and held at bus stand on Monday. Mayor Sunil Sood, Collector S K Mishra and bus operators attended the meeting.
Gaur, while inspecting the bus stand today, said it was developed considering all aspects and the necessary facilities will be provided there.
Taking stock of the situation, Gaur asked Mayor Sunil Sood to develop the bus stand in association with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation and Capital Project department.
He said the bus stand was not functional for the last 16 years and directed that all the hurdles and problems for its development should be resolved soon.
He further instructed that illegal plying of Indore buses from Nadra bus stand should be stopped forthwith. It was decided at the meeting that the relaxation given so far for buses to ply up to Nadra bus stand from 11 pm to 6 am would also be withdrawn from Tuesday.
Buses to Biaora would also be conducted from Halalpura bus stand. Mayor Sood at the meeting assured that Municipal Corporation would fulfil all its responsibility relating to development of the bus stand.
Collector Mishra said necessary construction and levelling works would commence from Tuesday. Illegal plying of buses from Nadra bus stand would be strictly checked, he added.
ADM M B Ojha, Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Verma and DCP (Traffic) Yogiraj Singh were also present in the meeting.
