Mikhail Bora, who will be a key witness in the murder case of his sister Sheena Bora, has told the police that Indrani had tried to kill him not once but twice.
He told the police that Indrani first called him to Mumbai in December 2011, when she sent him a plane ticket and booked him a hotel room. When he arrived in Mumbai, Indrani spiked his drink in an attempt to kill him, Mikhail claims.
HT had earlier reported about Mikhail’s claim of an identical attempt on his life on April 25, 2012, five months after the first alleged attempt. Mikhail told the police that Indrani called him to Mumbai in April 2012 to “discuss something important”.
Speaking about the second attempt, a senior police officer said, “She sent him a return plane ticket from Guwahati to Mumbai. It was for the day on which Indrani and the other accused disposed of Sheena’s body at Pen.” On arriving in Mumbai, Mikhail went directly to Indrani’s home in Worli, where he claims he was given a drink laced with sedatives, just as in December 2011. Mikhail immediately realised something was wrong and found an excuse to leave the house, said a police source. From there, he took a taxi to the airport, the source added.
“He booked a ticket on a flight to Guwahati and never returned to the city,” said a police officer.
Based on Mikhail’s statements, the Khar police have added attempted murder to the list of charges against Indrani.
