THE STATE Government has constituted the Industry Advisory Council to establish industry-friendly administration in Madhya Pradesh under provisions of the industrial policy work plan.
The advisory council constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister will provide suggestions and advise in larger interest of the Commerce and Industries Department.
The Minister for Commerce and Industry will be deputy chairman of the council while ministers for finance, energy and IT, housing and environment, agriculture, horticulture and food processing along with vice-chairman of the State Planning Board will be its members. Principal secretary of the Commerce and Industry Department has been appointed member secretary of the council.
The chief secretary, principal secretaries of finance, energy, Information & Technology, housing and environment, agriculture, horticulture & food processing, Commercial Tax Department and secretary of minerals department have also been included in the council.
In addition, economists, industrialists and several experts like Y C Deveshwar (ITC), Abhay Firodia (Force Motors), Dr Kiran Majumdar (Biocon Ltd), Ramesh Agrawal (Dainik Bhaskar), Nandan M Neelkani (Infosys), Angal Pal (Caparo, London), Rajendra S Lodha (MP Birla group), S N Ruia (Essar Power), Debu Bhattacharya (Hindalco), R Scindia (JK Industries), O K Kaul (Tata International), S K Chowdhary (Pratibha Sintex), Kailash Sahara (Ruchi group), Manoj Gaur (JP Associates), S P Oswal (Vardhaman group), Kailsh Gupta (Commercial Automobiles), R C Surana (HEG), Mallika Shrinivasan (Tafe), Pramod Bhasin (Genpect), Rajiv Mohan Gupta (Jagran group), Director IIM Indore, Director CAT Indore, President of SOPA, Indore, Executive Director of BHEL, Bhopal and CEO of Netrip, New Delhi will be the non-government members.
Besides, FICCI, CII and PHDCCI including State representatives of the main industrial associations of Madhya Pradesh will become special invitee members of the advisory council.
It has been decided to organise at least one meeting of the Industry Advisory Council every year in which non-governmental members will be treated as State guests.
The council will have a five-year term or go in for reconstitution whichever is earlier.
