A day after security forces claimed to have killed five militants in an operation in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, army personnel foiled an infiltration bid in Tangdhar in north Kashmir, 150 km from Srinagar, along the Line of Control, killing four terrorists in the operation.

According to an army spokesperson, “The Army personnel spotted some movement along the LoC when a group of terrorists were trying to cross over into the area on the wee hours of Saturday.” A search operation is still on, the spokesperson said.

On Friday, Security forces the Kangan police and army's 24 Rashtriya Rifles killed five militants on the fringes of Najwan forest near Prang, Ganderbal.
"All five militants are believed to be of a non-local cell of Hizbul Mujahideen. Among those killed is Hibul Mujahideen's district commander Assaudullah," said an army spokesman.

Hizb is primarily considered to be an indigenous organisation. Army said the group was responsible for threat to Amarnath Yatra.
