Intelligence system improving in country: Jaiswal

india Updated: Apr 05, 2009 22:46 IST

Intelligence system in the country has improved as we are now able to get prior information of the plans hatched by terror groups, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said on Sunday.

Talking to reporters in Kanpur, Jaiswal said as soon as the intelligence agencies receive any information regarding terror activities likely to happen in the country, we take required measures to deal with the situation and also alert the state governments in time.

Asked about the reports that terrorists are planning to enter the country from across the border, the minister said such information is often received by intelligence officials and at times it is incorrect, but we have to act on it.

On the political crisis in Pakistan, Jaiswal said Islamabad should first resolve its own problems rather than to make allegations against other countries.
