Inter-state gang of truck thieves nabbed

PITHAMPUR POLICE have arrested nine members of an inter-state gang who looted truck drivers and often killed them in the process. Some looted goods, three country made pistols and eight knives have been recovered from them. The gang’s modus operandi was unique in the sense that they took contracts to deliver huge containers carrying Maruti cars from Gurgaon in Haryana to Trivandrum.

On the way, they targetted a truck, brought their huge container in front of the specific vehicle at a lonely stop and then looted the truck and got back into their container once again.

Recently, they had looted a truck under Nasirabad police station and killed the truck driver by strangulating him with a piece of rope. They had used container HR-38-5093 for this purpose. Nasirabad police station has registered a case under Section 302 in this connection.

The gang members also confessed that they had looted Jitendra Sharma and his family while they were travelling in their Maruti car on Dhar Road a few days back. They have also confessed their involvement in two other loot cases under the Nalcha police station area.

All accused are from Dodwa police station, Sonepat  (Haryana) and have been identified as Jagful, Devendra, Niranjan, Sanjay, Surendra, Mukesh, Kuldeep, Rajveer and Santa.
