Finally, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is disbursing dearness allowance of $35 per day to all the players who are representing India at the Commonwealth Games here.

It has been learnt that late in the evening, managers of respective teams were given forms to be filled up by players and officials.

The best part is that the IOA will be giving out the money from the day an athlete has checked into the Games Village. "It's a good idea, but it would have been nicer if we had got the money a little earlier," said a manager.

The players checked into the Village on September 23 and till on Tuesday they have got nothing from the IOA.

Minor damage to track at JN Stadium

The synthetic tracks of the showpiece Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where athletics events of the Commonwealth Games start from tomorrow, suffered minor damage during the opening ceremony, sources said. Athletics Federation of India officials, however, said it was just a minor damage at the practice area.
