Ira International, ILVA, SICA qualify

IRA INTERNATIONAL School (Nagpur), host ILVA School (Indore) and SICA School (Indore) have won their respective matches to sail in to the second round in the various age groups at the West Zone CBSE badminton tournament organised by ILVA Higher Secondary School at Nehru Stadium in the City on Wednesday.

IRA INTERNATIONAL School (Nagpur), host ILVA School (Indore) and SICA School (Indore) have won their respective matches to sail in to the second round in the various age groups at the West Zone CBSE badminton tournament organised by ILVA Higher Secondary School at Nehru Stadium in the City on Wednesday.

Eight-year-old Rubin Shah of SICA school beat Sandhya Choudhry of DAV Navi Mumbai in the 14-year age group category in a thrilling match 21-19 and 21-19. Parichay Sharma beat Ajay Vishwanathan 21-5 and 21-10 to sail in to the second round. The other results of the match are: Kollhapur Public School beat Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Satna 2-0, J N Ambani Raiagrh defeated Pandit Uma Dutt, Dholpur 2-0.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Jabalpur beat Divine Chiles Mehsana 2-1, Symboisis Nasik beat D P Era Ahmedabad 2-0. In the age group of U-19 year boys’ category, St Joseph School (Bhopal) beat Sica school (Indore) 2-1, DPS Rajkot beat Nidhi Govindas School, Bhopal 2-1.

U-14 years girls’ category: Maharish Vidya Mandir, Jabalpur beat St Montford, Chandrapur 2-0. In the U-16 years girls’ category host ILVA School won all their matches in the six categories to sail in to the second round. In the 16 years boys’ category, Christ Jyoti Convent Ujjain beat St Paul School 2-0, Jaya Jyoti School Rewa beat Modern School Kota, Sica school Indore beat Navrachana Baroda 2-1.
