Bollywood actor Irfan Khan, who plays a cop in Danny Boyle's Golden Globe winning Slumdog Millionaire, today said he is not an actor by chance but is really passionate about his art.

, today said he is not an actor by chance but is really passionate about his art. "Progress and success are never achieved by chance, it requires strenuous efforts to make a successful career in films", the actor said interacting with media persons at a show conducted by BBC India Editor Sanjeev Srivastava.



Khan, who is originally from Rajasthan and has also acted in critically acclaimed films like Mira Nair's

, compared his career in films to the slow but steady run of the tortoise which finally won the race. He said he loved playing the role of an investigating police officer in Boyle's much acclaimed movie.



The actor, who is also seen in various mobile company advertisements, has great hopes from his upcoming film
