Has Narayan Rane's decision on whether to continue in the Congress party anything to do with Sharad Pawar.
The indications given by both Rane and Pawar, who were in Pune on Tuesday suggest that the former is seriously thinking on latter's advise on continuing with the Congress party.
Pawar after attending the state level workshop on sugarcane pricing said, "During our meeting I told Rane to stay back in the party as he can give results. I told him that you are in a political party so have some patience so that you will succeed in getting whatever you want."
Pawar's statement came minutes before Rane addressed media persons in a separate briefing at his residence at Karizma Society.
In his briefing Rane confirmed what Pawar had told him and said: "I have been deliberating on my future course of action and its true that Pawar has advised me on the issue. I am definitely thinking on his advice."
Rane, however, refused to divulge his final decision on staying back in the congress. Reffering to his meeting with the chief minister on Monday Rane said, "Today on January 6, as per the previous announcement I was supposed to announce my future course of action. But in my meeting with chief minister, he offered me a proposal. In the wake of this development, I have postponed my decision and now I will make new announcement only when I finalise my decision."
However, Rane refused to reveal the details of the proposal forwarded to him by chief minister. On the speculations about his meeting with congress high command Sonia Gandhi, Rane said that he can always meet party high command as he is still in the congress.
The CM-hopeful Narayan Rane had revolted in against party leaders after the party leadership announced the name of Ashok Chavan for the top post last month.
