Actor Isha Koppikar took a break from films recently to travel the world and sample different cuisines. She has also taken a course in coffee making and plans to set up a coffee shop in Mumbai next year. “I love coffee and the coffee culture has come to India. There are plenty of coffee shops and room for more. My outlet will be more excusive and expansive. Also, it will serve healthy snacks like wholewheat pastas and low-calorie desserts,” she informs.
But before that, she’s planning to flag off home delivering healthy packaged meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. “We’ve locked the menu and sampling will start in May. Once we set up the essential kitchen, we’ll take catering orders. It’ll roll by August-September,” says Isha whose parent company is Soul Konnect Hospitality, of which the health food business is Health Konnect. “At the end of the day you need to appease the soul. The body changes, the soul is constant.”
Talking about health, Isha says, “I’ve never believed in crash diets and counting calories. They help you shed kilos but two years down, the side effects are adverse. I’d rather you cut down on the inches with every passing month.”
